Fans reaction to Sunderland draw is not justified


So the Sunderland post mortem continues. Did United take a valuable point from a tough opponent? Did two anticipated points go begging from the fourth successive Premier League away draw? The debate continues and even those involved cannot agree. Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar laments the lost points saying “We can be happy that we had a clean sheet, the second in a row after Valencia on Wednesday but I think it was two dropped points because we dropped too many already in away games.”

Fergie at Valencia as United Iron out Scunthorpe


While Manchester United were cruising to a 5-2 defeat of  Scunthorpe with an entirely different starting line up to that used against Liverpool on Sunday, ten other Premier League clubs were dropping out of the Carling Cup. Manchester  City were knocked out by West Brom to miss out on their best chance of winning some sort of desperately desired silverware, Liverpool were determined to get to a Wembley final but could not even make it into the fourth round after going out to League Two Northampton at a half empty Anfield while Chelsea, Tottenham, Blackburn, Everton, Bolton, Fulham, Sunderland and Blackpool have  all been eliminated.

Clubs like United and Liverpool need a revolution


Evolution be damned. Clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool need a revolution. Truly Reds has never been radical or  politically driven, nor is it about to start preaching anarchy now. We believe however, that the time has come for football fans to take control of their clubs from the Gordon Gekko type greedy tycoons who are slowly destroying our great clubs and even the game itself. All shades of governments and self appointed football guardians like the FA, UEFA and FIFA are either unable or, more than likely unwilling, to stop OUR clubs from being financially driven out of existence by corporations who only see them as a means of making a quick, few million bucks. Football has sadly become all about the almighty  dollar.
