At some point during the next season Sir Alex Ferguson will have to make a decision which will be present him with an agonising dilemma. Goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar will turn 40 in six months time and while the giant Dutchman continues to show the same class that has been his hallmark throughout his long career, the time is fast approaching for him to hang up his gloves.

Real Madrid is ‘obsessed’ with signing Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney but would need to fork out £80 million or more to do so according to former President Ramon Calderon. Madrid have spent £250m assembling a team with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Xabi Alonso, were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek by French side Lyon.
Current president Florentino Perez has been linked with potential moves for Jose Mourinho to replace manager Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester United striker Rooney.

Is Obertan heading to Old Trafford?
According to Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud Manchester United are close to signing their young star Gabriel Obertan. After missing out on Lyon youngster Karim Benzema, United now look likely to capture another young French star.
The youngster is highly rated and made his Bordeaux debut at the age of just 17, but struggled to get into the first team last season and was loaned out to Lorient were he made 15 appearances scoring just once. He is a French under-21 international and other major European clubs
